One Forest Films is proud to be working with Jamison M. LoCascio and his production company Halcyon Valor Productions in the production of his student short Midnight Catch. A student of Montclair State University, Jamison is a sophomore in the School of Communication and Media. Montclair is the fastest growing state university in New Jersey after Rutgers.
“It’s been great! Early on we were working with 8mm and 16mm, and that has lent to a great appreciation for film. I have a better understanding of the craft,” Jamison stated when he sat down with us for an interview. Jamison is from Huterdon, NJ and he equated going from that town to his university “like leaving the Shire from Lord of the Rings.”
Jamison has made a couple of films at Montclair, but nothing this ambitious. “I wanted to push things to the next level. I’ve never done something so dialogue intensive. This is a very personal film.”
Louis Ambrosio is his faculty advisor and he is ecstatic to work with the young filmmaker. “He’s a bright young filmmaker. He’s going to go places, and we’re very proud of him.”
Collen Doyle, President of One Forest Films said, “We’re excited to work with such a young and ambious filmmaker. It’s nice to be able to share our resources and experience with him. His positive and profestional attitude has been a pleasure to work with. He's written a great script, and we can’t wait to see it on the big screen.”
Jamison cited The French Connection (1971) as inspiration for the short film. It’s a film about running from the truth. He’s looking forward to a professional relationship with people he can trust. “One Forest Films is so giving, and so awesome. I’m very excited to work with them.” The feeling is mutual.
